These terms apply when you commission a painting or buy a print or original from Sumit Anand Art (Sumit Anand, Brisbane, Queensland). By sending a commission request or placing an order you agree to them.

Commissions

  • The price shown on the website is an estimate. I confirm the final price by email after looking at your photo and details.
  • I take a limited number of commissions each month. If the current month is full, your painting is booked for the next available month.
  • A 40% deposit starts your painting. Your booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid.
  • I paint directly onto the canvas without a separate sketch stage. I share progress photos while I work.
  • Small adjustments while I am painting are included. Larger changes (for example a new pose, background or extra person) may cost extra, and I will tell you the cost before making them.
  • The balance is due before the painting is shipped or collected.
  • Usual turnaround is about 4 to 6 weeks from the deposit. Rush requests (about 2 weeks) cost more and depend on availability. Times are estimates, not guarantees.

Cancellations and refunds

  • You can cancel before I start painting and I will refund your deposit.
  • Because each commission is custom-made for you, the deposit is not refundable once I have started painting, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a painting or print arrives damaged or is not as described, contact me and I will repair, replace or refund it as the law requires.

Prints and originals

  • Prints are made to order and shipped within Australia unless agreed otherwise. Colours can vary slightly between screens and print materials.
  • Originals are one of a kind. An order is confirmed once payment is received.

Your photo and copyright

  • You confirm that you have the right to use any photo you send me.
  • I keep the copyright in every painting. You own the physical painting and may display it. Prints or reproductions need my permission.
  • With your permission (a separate tick box on the form), I may share the finished painting and its time-lapse on my website and social media.

Shipping

Paintings are packed carefully and sent with tracking. The shipping cost is confirmed with your quote. Local pick-up in Brisbane can be arranged.
